It may be a little bit too early for thick sweaters and boots now, but fall is quickly approaching. I LOVE fall because of the food, fashion, and of course the pumpkin spice lattes! Fall trend reports are starting to come out, and I’m excited to see some of my favorite summer trends still on the list. Even though it is 70-80 degrees in Ohio most days, I’m starting to incorporate some of my favorite trend pieces into outfits for a fresh fall wardrobe update.
In these pictures I’m sporting some of my favorite fall trends all in one outfit. First, the Banana Republic sweater I’m wearing has these gorgeous flute sleeves, but the sleeves are accordion pleated as well. Statement sleeves were huge this past season, and it doesn’t look like they are going away anytime soon! The accordion pleats are a nice update to the rather common flute sleeves, and I’m completely obsessed. I think accordion pleats may be my favorite trend for this fall. I wore a gorgeous accordion pleat midi skirt in my last post, and I’ve been seeing them all over Pinterest and Instagram too.
Another trend that’s carrying over into fall is statement belts. The Gucci double G belt is huge, but my wallet isn’t so I opted for this Topshop belt. It has the same look with the black leather (the Topshop belt is faux leather) and gold statement buckle, but it isn’t a complete knock off. Adding a belt to an outfit adds dimension and detail. My favorite way to style them is with a white tee and jeans because it’s a great way to spice up a classic look. I’ve also seen them cinched around the waist of dresses, and I styled mine with an accordion pleated midi skirt in my last post.
The final trend is one that’s been around for awhile, but I’m happy it’s made the list for fall. Mule loafers have to be my favorite shoe trend because they are so easy to style. They look great with a tee shirt and jeans, or with black pants and a blouse. I’m wearing my favorite blush pair from Marshall’s in this outfit, but I also have a black pair that I wear a lot as well. I’m wearing them as much as I can now before it cools down because these aren’t very practical for super cold days. I’ve linked a similar pair here.
I’m looking forward to simple, chic looks for this fall after this summer filled with bright and fun trends. My closet is already stocked full with a few of these trends, and I cannot wait to add more!
