Hello friends! The weather has been super cold here in Ohio lately, so I figured I’d do a cozy sweater guide. I live in sweaters when it hits under 60 degrees because they are so soft and there’s tons of different styles. They can be dressed down with leggings and boots, or worn on a night out when paired with a mini skirt and the right accessories. Layer them over a button up, or wear one alone; sweaters are the ultimate cold weather top!
Before I owned my own merino wool sweater from Gap, I was always stealing my mom’s. I love these soft knits because they are lightweight but it will still keep you toasty on the coolest days. I’ve featured a crewneck because I like the fit, but it comes in several other styles, such as turtlenecks and cardigans. I love how simple the merino wool sweaters are from Gap because of how easily they can be styled. This blush one would look perfect with basic flats and jeans, as well as layered under vests and cardigans.
Cable knit is such a classic, and the loose fit of this one from Banana Republic is the perfect trendy twist. The oversized cowl neck adds an extra ounce of fun to a simple look, and makes it that much cozier! Banana Republic sweaters are a bit pricey for me, but I do love how nicely they fit.
This dolman sleeve sweater isn’t as simple as the last few sweaters have been, but this style is super trendy right now. I love mock neck sweaters, especially when they are black because they’re so chic. Paired with jeans and over-the-knee boots, this sweater would be perfect for dinner or shopping!
I love a good oversized sweater, and this ribbed knit one from J.Crew has to be one of my faves. It has dropped shoulders that add to the oversized look, and it has loose sleeves. Throw on a pair of tennies, a statement belt, and jeans for a quick and casual look!
This ruffle-hem sweater from Old Navy is so soft and feminine. I don’t think there’s anything girly-er than a bit of ruffles. It comes in 4 gorgeous colors, but the black has got to be my fave! I’d pair this sweater with jeans, leopard print flats, and a fur vest to add some texture and flare.
Now is the time to be stocking up on sweaters for the increasingly cooler days to come. Sweaters will always be a personal favorite of mine because of how comfy they are.
