Color & Texture Play for the Holiday Season

Hello lovelies! Christmas is approaching quickly, so I thought it was time to share my first holiday look. My ideal outfit for holiday parties is festive, classy, and comfortable. As mentioned in my last post, fur and velvet are the perfect holiday textures to play with, so in the look I’m sharing today, I’m doing just that!

I am always wearing this Old Navy fur jacket. It’s all over my Instagram, and I’ve even linked it a few times on my blog. This fur jacket isn’t just for the looks, it’s super warm and cozy! I find myself reaching for it on the coldest days here in Ohio. Old Navy doesn’t have it right now, but this Gap one is SO soft and this Forever21 one is more affordable.

Velvet is huge right now, but believe it or not, I bought these velvet pants about four years ago at Gap. I have them in black as well, but the berry color is perfect for the holiday season. These pants are almost like leggings because they are super flexible and stretchy. Unfortunately, Gap doesn’t have the berry color anymore, but they have a similar style in black, as well as a pant version in four different colors!

One of my favorite color combinations for the holiday season is berry and blush pink, so to compliment the berry velvet pants, I’m wearing this sweater from Gap. I love the cropped fit and balloon sleeves on this chunky knit. It adds an oversized effect, but the sweater doesn’t swallow you since it’s cropped.

Finally, I finished off the outfit with a pair of metallic flats (similar linked here). There’s something about adding a little shimmer to an outfit that makes it more festive. If you’re going to be at a party outdoors, I’d opt for this shiny gold boot from Old Navy.

I love the mixture of textures and colors in this look. When you break the outfit down, it sounds as if there’s a lot going on, but when it comes together it’s actually classic and simple.
