Tartan Plaid and Velvet Pants for Christmas Eve

Hello lovelies! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas Eve. Before I headed off to my party tonight, I took some quick pictures of this festive look. For holiday parties, I like to go for something simple and comfortable. I use different prints, textures, and colors to add the festive feel to my outfit, like in this outfit from a few posts ago. I’m wearing velvet, tartan plaid, and a gorgeous red lip tonight to my Christmas Eve party to create a classic, holiday look.

I always choose this sweater from Banana Republic (out of stock, similar here) for nights out and family parties. The sweater is simple when it comes to the color and fit, but the sleeves make a statement that sparks conversation. Even though the flute sleeves may not seem practical for dinner, they actually don’t get in the way too much for me. They hit a little bit before my wrists, so the shorter length makes them more manageable.

Velvet is not only on-trend, but perfect for the holidays. I love these velvet pants from Gap because they pairs well with these tartan plaid flats from Old Navy (out of stock, similar here). The flats are the star of the show for this outfit because without them, the festive look would be incomplete. From décor to clothes, tartan plaid has always been popular during the holiday season. To make this classic print more modern, the shoes have gold studs on the ankle straps.

I never feel quite right without a red lip for Christmas, and this lipstick is the perfect holiday red. I love a good matte lip, and this Maybelline Color Sensational Powder Matte in Cruel Ruby. I’ve had it on since the morning, and I’ve drank a coffee, can of ginger ale, and snacked on various hors d’oeuvres. It still looks amazing and I haven’t had to reapply! Thanks to Influenster for sending both Cruel Ruby and Smoky Jade to me for free for testing purposes!

There’s nothing better than a snowy day, tartan plaid, and a cozy sweater for Christmas Eve. I hope you all enjoy your holiday festivities and have a Merry Christmas Eve! Don’t forget to follow my Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest to see more of The Chic Flamingo.
