Hello, and welcome to the about page of thechicpinkflamingo.com! Maybe you came here to learn more about me, or maybe you clicked on this page by mistake. Either way, feel free to read on to learn more about me and find out the meaning behind my blog’s name.
My name is Sophie and I was born and raised in a tiny town in Ohio. I still currently live there because I’m only a senior in high school, but I won’t be here much longer. No, there’s nothing wrong with small town living, but I do want to see more than just corn fields and farms each day! That’s why most of my pictures are in front of a garage (don’t worry, I’m starting to branch out!)
I started my blog in March of 2017 after years of following other fashion bloggers. It always had interested me since I love to write and I love fashion even more. Thinking of a name was one of the hardest parts of creating my blog. I wanted it to reflect who I truly was, but at first I was thinking too hard. At this point, I don’t remember the exact moment I thought of the name, but I know that as soon as it popped in my head I knew it was the one!
Ever since I was a little girl, my mom has been telling me to never follow the crowd. Eventually when social media became a thing, she started sending me posts that had the same message. One of our personal favorites is “Be a flamingo in a flock full of pigeons” and when we first saw that one, it stuck. We started buying everything flamingo related as a reminder, and because they are pretty cute pink creatures! My mom even bought me a flamingo float because I am that obsessed!
I needed an adjective to add to my title, and the best way I can describe my style is chic! Thus, thechicpinkflamingo.com was born, and I’ve never looked back!
The point of my blog is to share my style and new finds, as well as encourage other people to be a flamingo. I believe that the best way we can grow is to step out of our comfort zones, so I push that a lot on my blog too! I show a chic, timeless style, but include a lot about trends.
Feel free to check out the rest of my blog, and thanks for stopping in!
