Flamingo’s Top Four- October

It’s been a real hot minute since I’ve sat down and thought of four things that have made me really happy that month, but today I’m bringing back Flamingo’s Top Four for good (hopefully!) If you haven’t been reading my blog for that long, FTF is a series where I round up four fashion things that I wore on repeat for that month. This time around, I’m going to try and keep the posts at the end of the month and not at the beginning of the next!

1. Banana Republic Sweater

It’s finally cold enough in Ohio to wear my favorite sweater in existence. I’m completely obsessed with this accordion pleat flute sleeve sweater from Banana Republic. I did a blog post on it a few months ago, but I can now wear it without dying of heat exhaustion. There’s something about a good fitting sweater that makes me feel like I run the world, and this sweater does just that. I love these taupe over the knee boots paired with them, and of course dark wash jeans. This is my go-to sweater for days where I’m feeling like a mess because it always makes me look put together! For reference, I’m wearing an XS.DSC00760DSC00771

2. Black Turtle Neck

I love a chic, classic look, and the best way to achieve this in cold weather is with a black turtle neck. Tuck one into a pair of dark wash denim, throw on leopard print flats, and you’re set for the day. I almost always add a statement belt to make the outfit trendier and more fun.DSC00776DSC00774

3. Low Buns

To go along with the classic look, I’ve been putting my hair in a low bun/pony tail, depending on what my short hair is feeling that day. I love how sleek it looks and it keeps my hair out of my way. It’s convinced me to let my hair grow a little longer so I’m able to throw it in a low bun a bit easier!DSC00773

4. Red Lips

I’m a huge fan of dark lips this time of year, but I typically go for berries over reds. Lately I’ve been wearing this liquid lipstick from Too Faced in the shade Suck It. On the site it looks like a muted pinky-red but on the lips it’s a deep red. I absolutely adore this color and have been wearing it nonstop. It stays on pretty well if you let it dry before you take a sip of coffee, of course I’m terrible at this. I don’t find this product to be super drying either, and I only have to apply one coat.

Roaming in my Roman Sandals

Finally my first year of (kinda) college is over so I can relax and enjoy the warm weather. I say kinda because this past year I’ve been doing part-time college and attending high school so it was not super stressful. Regardless, it was a lot more to add to my already busy schedule and I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief after my final exam. The few days following were pure bliss because I relaxed all day long and did some retail therapy. That is where I picked up these new shoes!

I’ve been eyeing these sandals since last summer and I’ve finally got them. I’m not super short, but I still don’t have much height to me so I love the little block heels these have. They come in black, but I purchased the cognac because it isn’t as harsh. Since they are gladiator sandals and they lace up, they look best with cropped jeans, but raw hem jeans really add to the casual boho look. I’m definitely one of those girls who struggles to walk in heels, but since these only add a little height I don’t stumble near as much.

They are super comfortable, but they do need to be broken in a little bit. I’m looking forward to sporting these sandals all spring and summer to add a boho element to my typical classy-chic look!
